Description 1 5/8″ Castor. Diameter: 40mm Knock-in (sockets supplied) These 1 5/8″ castors are mainly used in the bedding and upholstery trade. Although they have many other uses in many other trades. These 1 5/8″ castors have a zinc plated body with a black plastic wheel. They fit into a standard grip-neck socket (included) and are ideal for home furniture. A cost effective alternative to brass or shepherd castors. (1 1/4″ castors also available) When replacing castors: If you are replacing your existing socket fixing castors, they should simply fit into the existing socket in the furniture. (we will send each castor sold with its own socket – just in case!) Sometimes the socket may be a little loose in the hole, as long as the frame is not split where the socket fits you can glue in a few thin slivers of wood to wedge it in firmly, then simply push in your new 1 5/8″ castor.
