The 1/2" AR500 Round Gong Target is built for shooters who push their equipment hard. Half-inch AR500 handles the full range of handgun calibers and rifle cartridges up to .338 Lapua Magnum at 200 yards minimum, making it the right choice when 3/8" is not enough for your cartridge or distance. CNC laser-cut from domestic AR500 steel, each plate maintains consistent hardness and true edges for longer service life, controlled splatter and a clean ring on every hit. Available in 4", 6", 8", 10", 12" and 16" diameters. Ships unpainted without chain or mounting hardware so you can configure your preferred hanging setup. Made in the USA. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the plate before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. What is the difference between the 3/8" and 1/2" AR500 round gong?The 3/8" plate is rated for handguns and short-action rifles up to .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at 100 yards minimum. The 1/2" plate handles everything the 3/8" does and extends the rating up to .338 Lapua Magnum at 200 yards minimum. If you are shooting magnum rifle cartridges or want maximum plate longevity under sustained rifle fire, the 1/2" is the right choice. What size should I choose?Smaller diameters like the 4" and 6" are well suited for precision pistol drills and close-range carbine work. The 8" and 10" are the most versatile all-around sizes for standard range distances. The 12" and 16" give you a larger feedback zone for longer distances and faster target transitions. Does chain or mounting hardware come with this target?No. This target ships without chain or mounting hardware so you can choose the setup that fits your stand. Why CNC laser-cut instead of plasma-cut?CNC laser-cutting controls the heat-affected zone more precisely than plasma cutting, preserving hardness at the plate edge rather than softening it during the cut.
